Summary

In this special non-fiction episode we remember the work of journalist Ernie Pyle, a WWII war correspondent who was beloved by his countrymen for his columns which told of the lives of everyday soldiers and sailors and often spoke of life back home. Ernie, who witnessed the bombing of London, the liberation of Paris, the fighting in North Africa, Italy, and the Pacific Islands- was killed by a Japanese sniper near Okinawa in 1944.
