Good morning, Bucknotters. Buckman to the Bucknotts morning five here on Friday, June 4th, 2021. I am Dave Biddle. I am very happy to be joined by the man that never sleeps. The dean of Ohio State football recruiting Bill Curlyk, Bill. Thank you so much for joining me. I know you're busy as heck.

First of all, just let the listeners know what they need to know so far about what's happened this week on the recruiting front for the buck eyes. It's been such an action packed week and what they need to know going forward this weekend.

First of all, it was a great day on Wednesday, even though it was cloudy, overcast, not as warm as usual. It was a great day because we actually got back to having camps.

Basically, you know, first time in two years that we've had a camp at Ohio State, and that was a great thing. It was also just nice to see all of the people there. Everybody, you know, working out, you know, coaches, coaches, everybody doing thing. You can see their faces.

You know, that was that was nice too. So to talk to everyone and see the action, it was fantastic.

You know, I think the main highlights from the camp were that five guys got offered, scholarship offers from Ohio State, and that number could well grow. You know, they're still evaluating.

You know, I know where the guys were that can't, but you start with the quarterbacks and the one for me that I think everybody was really anticipating being at the camp.

That being Nico on the layman, he was pretty much as advertised and he landed the offer. And then you had Eli Holmes theme from Louisiana got offered.

You had a defensive lineman that just was terrific. You know, Kenneth Grant from Indiana came in, maybe not as heralded as some people might think, but, you know, it was just high popping. He's six foot four.

He's 350 pounds. He ran a five one 40 and he was powerful and just stood out in the one on one. So, you know, he got it off her and he's somebody that certainly high state fans should keep in mind as a potential guy to end up, you know, as a buckeye.

That was certainly interesting. And then you had the two defensive backset got offered Christian Gray from Missouri. He's been a big buckeye fan for quite some time. He, I know, was very excited about being offered by Ohio State.

He's a cornerback, 2023 ad and then can Lee who came up to Ohio State with Kristen Miller, the 2020 to off defensive lineman that the high state has scheduled for an official visit. They came up together and can Lee also got an offer. So that's kind of the big developments and we'll see.

And again, guys are still getting evaluated. Wouldn't be surprised at all. If more offers eventually come either sooner or later from the guys were at that camp.

I want to look at the 2022 class right now. Obviously, the buckeye's have 12 commits headline by the Quinn viewers rate number two in the country. Just give me a ballpark estimate here. I'm sure you love questions like this. But how many commits can we expect this month from Ohio State for the 2022 class?

You know, that's really tough. I'm actually telling people and I really think this is the way it's going to play out that you're not going to see a lot of initial commitments when guys start making official visits just because it's been a long time.

The guys haven't been on campus in some cases for, you know, two years. But certainly well, well over a year that guys have.

So to think that they're going to get out there and just take one visit and right away to a school. I think it's going to happen on occasion, but I don't think I should be the norm.

The norm is going to be, you know, hey, let's take a couple visits at least maybe three, four, maybe all five before we make a decision. So I think that it'll be very interesting to see how the visits go initially.

But I think then it'll be really interesting towards the middle and late in the month early July to see which guys are going where I think you're going to have a lot activity then.

It's yet in the 2023 class. I imagine that's going to change relatively quick this month. Give the listener some idea what to expect this month in regard to the 2023 class.

Well, we the big thing is we have five more camps and you know, it actually is almost like 10 because these are each day is two separate sessions, two separate camp sessions where you have the big guys, the offensive defensive lineman in the morning.
