After a boycott lasting 726 days. On Monday, on a freezing stormy evening with protesters gathering outside.

The leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, Jeffrey Donaldson, convened his colleagues at a venue in County Down to decide, whether to put the Northern Irish government at Stormont back to work.

And it went on for hours and hours and hours. There was additional drama by the fact that

it was being supposed to be a confidential

private meeting but somebody was had appeared to be wearing a wire and they

were transmitting it to one of Jeffrey's's biggest critics and he was live

tweeting the whole event minute by minute. And so when eventually Jeffrey

Donaldson emerged after midnight a lot of the press pack there thought it's all gone

pear shaped that I mean the meeting's gone on for five hours you know had he stuck's

lined up in a road should not have taken so long. I want to make a statement first of all and then happy to take some questions.
