| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Dividing Cafe weekly market commentary focused on dividends in your portfolio and dividends in your understanding of economic life. |
| 0:10.0 | Well, hello and welcome to another DC today, a daily synopsis for you of all the fun action in the market. |
| 0:20.0 | We're getting even closer now, just three days to go now, until the synopsis for you of all the fun action in the market. |
| 0:24.4 | We're getting even closer now, just three days to go now, |
| 0:30.8 | to the close of September and Q3, likely a quarter and a month that a lot of people will want to leave in the rearview mirror. |
| 0:33.0 | The Dow ended up down 126 points today. |
| 0:36.2 | It doesn't seem like that big of a deal these days, |
| 0:38.3 | but it was up over 300 early on. Right away, it was clear. It wasn't going to hold its momentum. |
| 0:45.3 | And so the Dow, after a couple of hours, had gone from positive to negative. But even the high |
| 0:52.3 | of the day was reached very early on, and that upward momentum fizzled |

| 1:29.9 | weird action in the bond market today, you have the two year down a couple basis points, |
| 1:36.0 | you had the six month down six basis points, and then you have the 10 year, like I say, |
| 1:41.8 | up seven basis points, and 30 year, up 13. |
| 1:45.7 | That's quite a bit of steepening in the yield curve when yields in the low end we're coming down, |
| 1:51.4 | the high end going up. |
| 1:52.4 | And it's just been so long since we've seen something like that. |
| 1:55.8 | So a little steepening in the curve. |
| 1:58.4 | But fundamentally, actually, let me get through the data and then I'm |
| 2:01.5 | going to give you some commentary on why this matters, because it matters a lot. Energy was the |
| 2:06.7 | top performing sector today. It was up about 1.2%. Consumer staples were the worst performing sector. |
