Every week I'm joined by my daughter, Emma Walks and Hamilton.

Hello. And we read a book that we picked out just for you.

Emma, guess what? What? You know how I've always wanted to learn to play the cello?

Yes. Well, I'm finally doing it.

Oh, that's great, Mom. How exciting.

I know. My very first lesson is this evening, and I must say I am a little nervous.

I was feeling so bold and adventurous when I signed up for it, but now I don't know.

It's a lot to take on. Well, trying new things can be scary, but it's exciting too, right?

I'd say I'm half nervous and half excited.

I thought our listeners might be able to make me feel brave, so I asked them to share a time

they tried something new. Let's hear what they had to say.

I wasn't sure I would like first grade. I was trying to scare, but then I saw that it was really fun.

When I thought that I didn't like peaches because of the pink part around it, I ended up really liking them when I tried them.

It's fun to go flipping and doing handstands and cartwheel piano, but now I enjoy it because I like learning new pieces,

and I just love playing all the notes.

I do feel braver just hearing about how adventurous all of you are.
