We find ourselves in chapter 5, and I would invite you to turn to chapter 5, and we look again at the

first three verses of this chapter. First Thessalonians chapter 5, verses 1 through 3.

Well, they are saying, peace and safety, then destruction will come upon them suddenly like

great and terrible day of the Lord. Amos, for example, is one of the prophets that writes about the

day of the Lord, along with others like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Zefania, and Malachi. And Amos, for example,

shows us that the day of the Lord will be darkness and not light. It will be judgment and not mercy.
