I think about Psalm 119, 162. It says, I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil.

There is spoil. There's treasure waiting for you and me every day in God's word, not just so that we know it and understand it,

but so that we know God and walk in love relationship with God.

That's why I wrote this book to help you toward that end.

Obadiah 1, verse 15.

For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations.

As you have done, it shall be done to you.

Your deeds shall return on your own head.

What a sobering verse, isn't it?

One, just to think about the last part of this verse, the fact that God is saying to all the

nations, which includes all of us, as you have done, it shall be done to you.

Your deeds shall return on your own head.

I read that and my mind, I'm hard going two different directions.

One, every deed I've done, that just makes me want today to be very careful and every single

thing I do to bring honor to God, to be holy in all that I do.

I exhort you. Be holy in all that you do today. Do not treat sin lightly. Walk and obedience to God

today for your good to experience life and knowing that your deeds,

your actions have consequences before God and in your life and on others' lives. Then that's the

other direction. My mind goes, praise Jesus for dying the cross for our sins.
