All of his prosperity and family, except for his wife, are gone in one afternoon.

All of it.

He goes from being the greatest man of the East to being stricken.

He has no herds.

All the wealth of a man, evidently in this culture,

was defined in terms of his servants and his cattle,

and his sheep, his asses, and his camels, and they're gone.

And his children are gone.

Imagine, imagine, ten children in all your wealth.

This is huge.

It's hard to even imagine a loss like Job's.

10 children, gone, everything he owned, gone,

and all in one afternoon.
