0:12.0	In this episode I want to tell you a little bit about myself, some aspects of my past that I have not discussed as extensively until now.
0:24.1	When I was in college, in graduate school, I had the opportunity to work with another professor
0:31.3	and learn about hypnosis. I had become a certified hypnotist and had the opportunity to speak to large groups
0:41.0	of people. Have you ever encountered a stage hypnotist? Everybody seems to have a story. People see
0:49.0	them in high school, in college, at the fair.
0:58.2	And so I had the opportunity to do stage hypnosis.
1:03.4	There was a process that I was taught and I was paid for a gig.
1:05.9	And I would go and do a stage hypnosis.
1:07.3	I did one at the fair once.
1:15.7	I did one prior to a Miss Wyoming contest. I did one in my public speaking class and several other times over the course of a summer at different fairs and then I was invited
1:21.4	to several different high schools. I had avidly studied everything I could about hypnosis because I was super fascinated by how it worked,
1:32.5	what I would see it do to other people, but at the same time I saw a dark side to hypnosis.
1:39.7	And so I want to share with you there is a dark side to hypnosis.
1:44.3	I use hypnosis in my episodes, in my meditations, but I always do it knowingly.
1:51.4	I got out of doing that because I felt like it was dangerous.
1:55.4	I could see how people could become addicted to it.
1:58.5	It gave you a certain level of power.
2:01.2	I would step on stage.
2:03.4	The air would crackle with anticipation
2:05.1	and I would see hundreds of eyes locked on me.
2:08.6	Their minds open, eager for transformation.
