community that gender dysphoria, at first with adults, needed to be treated with hormone

replacement and radical irreversible surgery. Now with children, by the way. Part of the battle against this is a battle of words.

How we describe these conditions and how we understand dysphoria itself. Is it a simple

condition or is it a symptom of something else? Welcome back to issues, et cetera. I'm Todd Wilkin, joining us to discuss the dangers

of so-called gender-affirming care. Walt Hire, Walt identified as a transgender woman for eight

years. He's author of several books, including trans-life survivors in a recent column for the Federalist

What is what sometimes is called gender dysphoria or body dysphoria?

Yeah, well, body dysphoria is a disorder. And the problem is with body dysmorphia and dysphoria is that they often get confused,

and people who think they have dysphoria actually have dysmorphia, and you don't treat dysmorphia

with hormones and surgery. This is just one of the example. It's not the

only one. It's just one of the examples of how this whole gender affirming care thing has gone
