Welcome back to disturbing facts about gun violence in the United States.

Gun ownership, just having a gun in the house, increases the risk of completed suicides

compared to all members, all other means of suicide combined,

combined, pills cutting, jumping, even hanging.

Domestic violence increases in severity and

deadliness when there's a gun in the home.

Women are 16 times more likely to be killed by a gun in the United States than in any other developed nation in the world.

Sixteen times. That's 1,600 percent if I'm doing my math right.

Sixteen times more likely.

Gun violence is the leading cause of injury and death for

America's children and youth that is not true of any other country in the

developed world

since 2013 there have been nearly three 300 school shootings in the United States

an average of about one a week the Parkland shooting marked the 18th

school shooting in 2018 alone just from January 1st of February 18th of this year, there were 30 mass shootings in the United States.

In an average month, 50 American women are shot to death by intimate partners,

and many, many, many many many more are injured.

The Parkland students were carrying signs.

I don't know if this was all of them or just many enough of them to get the attention

but David Hogg was one of the more visible spokespeople
