Summary

Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:21-23 not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven. How do we know if we are known by Jesus? How do we know if we are self-deceived? Is our profession merely verbal or intellectual knowledge, or are we those who are truly converted? When we call Jesus Lord, do we desire to submit to Him as Lord and do as He tells us to do from a heart that has been changed and given new motives and desires? Is there a love for the Lord and His Word and His people? Matthew 7:21-23: 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'
