If you have a Bible, Proverbs chapter six is where we're going to begin.

This message began last weekend.

That's always kind of true.

Our series is kind of tend to be ideas that we began and kind of stay with,

but this message literally,

I got to the end of my time last week and I had not even got to half of the sermon,

which kind of was wonderful because I was like,

we're not going to make studying easy this week.

But God's so annoying, he gave me all kind of new stuff too.

So I've got half the message from last week.

I've so many new things that God has given me and I'm excited.

If you're excited, say, I'm ready.

Proverbs six, starting in verse 20, it says,

My son, keep your father's command and do not forsake the law of your mother.

He's speaking poetically here about the power of Scripture,

that a father and a mother are supposed to impart to their children.

Now, of course, just as much as the author of the book of Proverbs is speaking to the child in this case,

there's also an implied command to the parents, isn't there?

How can the child treasure the command not given by the parent?

So it is on the parent to make sure they are doing their due diligence of giving God's word to their kids.

So as you whisper with your kids at bedtime, as you talk God's word into their heart,

as you prioritize being in the house,
