I love classic fiction, especially more specifically classic horror fiction by writers like Edgar

Allen Poe. We all know who that is. But there are some other lesser known writers who are just as good

and if you dig deep enough you can find some of these folks on the internet and read their stories

free. None of this stuff is copyrighted because it's so old and public it has been published so much.

And one of these writers that I found is named as Andros Beers and I've read some of his stuff

through the years. But I came across this story and it is eerily similar to a lot of the big

foot stories that I read or hear and it's very similar to a movie that came out in the 1980s called

Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura and some other famous actors. I think

you're going to enjoy it. The title of the story is this damn thing. Again the writer's name is

Andrews Beers. By the light of a candle the only light sourcing the room and placed at the end of

a rough table a man read a book. It was a thick diary worn at the edges from use. The writing was

apparently not legible so that the man held the pages close to his face and in the dim light of

the candle. By moving the pages closer to the candle the light was obscured from the rest of the room

darkening the faces of the eight other men there. Seven of the men sat against the rough walls of a

log cabin not far from the table. They sat silent and motionless. Any of these men were close enough

in the small room to reach out and touch the eighth man a dead man who lay on the table.

The body was face up partly covered by a white blood soaked sheet arms at its sides.

The minutes passed as the man flipped the pages of the diary the other set still in silence as if

waiting on something or someone. The dead man under the sheet was the only one in the room who put

off an hour of non-expectation. Night sounds drifted in an open window. Sounds not given any mind
