I'm your host, Ross Uglam, the publisher of Packer Report.

And today we are doing our very first prospect primer, the subject of which is Alabama

cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstree.

Now, before we get into Kool-Aid, and I kind of mentioned this yesterday, I want to sort of

bring you through how I get to where I get to in scouting and some of kind of my background.

So I've been paying attention to the NFL draft for a long time and certainly made an

effort to do this in sort of an educated way or do it the scouts way, went through the process

of the scouting academy, but really kind of developed also my own own way and the things that I like and don't like in

players certainly some of that influence I would have to say was from the way Green Bay does

business too. I think they've done an excellent job. Have they had the Super Bowl trophies that

everyone probably wants? No, not necessarily. I would say,

you know, two in the Rogers Farb era is disappointing, but a small market team, I know the

NFL has a salary cap, but it's still not the most attractive place for free agents. A small

market team having the success that they have in and out. A lot of that comes from excellent scouting.

And so that's, you know, why I do let some of what the Packers like to do seep into my process.
