One thing has become clear in recent days,

Donald Trump is extremely confident that he is going to win the presidential election.

He's openly railing about his criminal conviction and making a range of authoritarian threats

right out in the open, blithely unconcerned about whether any of it will

alienate swing voters.

In one sense, this very well might backfire on him.
