I'm your host, Greg Sergeant. A few days ago Elon Musk triggered outrage by promoting an

extraordinarily vicious speech by a far-right Dutch activist that pushed virulent white nationalist ideologies.

Musk added that Europe is threatened by population collapse and suggested that in the long

run this could lead to what he called dead civilizations.

Something often gets lost in these controversies. It's that the ideas Musk is pushing here are part of a

genuine movement, one that's shaped around long-term

anxieties about demographics.
