Happy birthday to Corey Morrow

Turns 52 today.

I had a funny experience this week.

I, um... had a funny experience this week. I was texting back and forth and I had mentioned Cori listens to the show because he lives in drippingipping Springs now are Spicewood south of

South West I guess of of Austin outside of Austin I guess it's on the west side

Beautiful area out there. And now remember what, oh, he listens to the podcast.

And he said, you were talking about Adam Wexler, Adam Wexler and I went to high school at Memorial.

Now some of you will understand this and some of you won't.

I came to know of Corey Morrow in about 2000 maybe 2001 and I was getting really deep into the red dirt music scene and we used to go over to a place on onissonette called K's Lounge. Some of you will remember that.

And my running buddy was Levi Good, Good, and Duane Heffley owned Kaye's lounge.

Duane was a guy who started Firehouse Saloon, married my dear friend Sabrina Reynolds. now they're still married to this day

And we would go to Kays and they had a great jute box and we, my other friend Patrick Pacheco and Levi and I, and we would wear that

jute box out. We'd play pool, listen to jutebox, and talk about Texas red dirt music. And heavy in

our rotation is Robert Earl King, Charlie Robeson,

Corey and Pat, and Roger Craiger.

In fact, I met Roger Craiger. In fact, I met Roger

Craiger at Kays.

Cori had come into town a couple years later and we'd gotten to be buddies and he has, Coria has a buddy named Scott Kramer. And Scott Kramer's

claim to fame in my circle is that at the RCC one night he and I had gotten, he and I were over served and I decided

that he wasn't man enough to let me put out my cigar on his forearm.

And he decided he damn sure was.
