Who says who picks up the phone and calls the Harris County Republican Party and says, why do we only have half our Republican seats with candidates in them.

Because come late summer, early fall, the candidates are going to be having

fundraisers. There's going to be all this move. We've got to raise money, got to get people out to vote.

We lose elections on the end of the filing day. We've already lost.

It's quite tragic.

I think of that visual. I'll never get it out of my head of Hitler rolling the tanks through

Poland. They feared it was coming, and here it was.

And the Polish cavalry came out.

And I've often spent significant amounts of time imagining the proud Polish cavalry you've trained,

you've drilled. The call went out. They're coming. You are. There you are astride, your beautiful horse.

You've got your saber by your side. You got your trusty pistol. You've got your saber by your side. You've got your trusty pistol. You've probably brought some extra

ammo. You've got a rifle and there you go riding into the panzers buzz saw and you know it.

You know the minute you head out across that knoll that you're going to your, there's no chance you can win.

And yet valiant as you are, knowing that not only have you lost, but all of Poland is lost. Your people, your way of life, your language. The women will be raped, your cultural institutions destroyed,

that battle wasn't lost at that moment.

That battle was lost months and years before in the munitions plant.

And yes, that's a bit of a dramatic example, but that's what I think is happening.
