Hello everybody welcome into the cycle I am Ryan warmly joined as always by Mike Mayer

it is a couple of days before the all-star break a couple of days before the MLB draft for the home run derby

We're going to talk about that a bit later

for the actual all-star game and before we have a little respite from

baseball so we are we were kind of joking before the show it's not quite like

senioritis of like hey we're almost out of here

but maybe a little bit of a shorter show here as there's just frankly less to

look forward to next week because it's the fun exhibition stuff and also the

very sad very boring a couple of days out of

the year where there's no sports on which is always not super fun. How you

feeling heading into the all-star break? I mean we're past the technical you know halfway

point of the season but kind of the unofficial halfway point still at least in

terms of how a lot of people think about it how you feel and heading into the

break. I'm feeling good I'm looking for I always kind of like

look forward to the all-star game in the hormone derby not because I like them but

because I kind of like taking a few days off like baseball is such a marathon that I

kind of like just kind of catching my breath in the middle of the season, especially as like, you know, the football is like starting to creep into your mind and baseball like, you know, we're on month, what, April, May, June June we're on our fourth month here and we still have a long way to go and so it's like it's always a nice little break even if I'm not particularly fond of the all-star game right now.

I mean it's really it really feels like the

fifth month because like March is kind of a marathon in itself in terms of fantasy

baseball coverage and spring training and getting ready for the season so

fantasy drafts yeah I'm totally yeah drafts I'm totally with you I'm a big fan of the home run derby
