Hello and welcome to the Victor Davis Hansen show. This is the culturalist. Today we're going to talk about the elections.

0:26.0

I want to remind everybody that Victor is a classist, philologist, military, historian, and commentator.

0:34.0

We will be tapping his talents as a commentator this morning. His supporters find him so very judicious. His critics find him annoying and hard to debate.

0:45.0

You can find that on the angry reader on his website. We're talking today, as I said, about the elections.

0:52.0

But first, let's hear a word from our sponsors.

1:04.0

Welcome back. It's a happy day, I think, for Republicans. We've done a lot to win positions, offices in Virginia and New York and New Jersey seems to be up in the air.

1:19.0

How are you doing today, Victor? I'm doing fine. I'm doing fair in New York. I don't think we can call Democrat Eric Adams a Republican.

1:29.0

But I see your point that he ran on a law and order agenda and he was much more conservative than the pathetic bill to Blasio.

1:38.0

Yeah.

1:40.0

And so it's a happy day for all of us law and order people, I suppose, maybe we can call it that. Well, we have lots of races. I would like to start with the obvious one, I hope.

1:52.0

The Virginia race between the former governor, Terry McCullough and the first time politician, Glenn Youngkin.

2:02.0

And Glenn Youngkin seems to have won and McCullough has conceded the race. What are your thoughts on that race, Victor?

2:09.0

Well, I mean, before the election, of course, people at Kamala Harris were saying, this is a very important race and the racists are all out.

2:19.0

And they used the Charlottesville January 6th. Trump is under every bed. You were racist, racist, racist arguments.

2:26.0

And so they thought it was a cinch. I was following it this September when I was at Hillsdale talking to some political analysts there. And at that time,

2:35.0

I think that one can had started to break that 10 to 15 point deficit. And by the time I got home, he had really focused on that school board. And so the way to look at it is this, there were these local regional state.

2:51.0

I guess you could call them blasting caps or ignition switches and those were being insulted by these half educated bureaucrats that advised the school board, the school board itself,

3:02.0

Eric Garland, Sikin the FBI on parents, the whole transgender scam were a quote unquote transgender boy had raped a girl and her father was treated as if he was some drags to pluriple, chump, clinger, etc.

3:19.0

But those ignited people, but they didn't create the fuel for the real explosion. And the explosion, of course, is a, it's a blue state. And they not only lost the governorship to somebody never out of office before.

3:33.0

They lost the lieutenant governor and they lost it to the first black woman to hold state offices, went some seers. That's amazing.

3:40.0

And then they lost the attorney general to Hispanic, Cuban American, Morales, I think his name is, and what I'm getting at is it was a controlled repudiation of the local issues of quote unquote anti racist racist.

3:57.0

And the idea that the parents have no voice in school board and that got people angry or about the first chance to say something about the lunatic last 10 months. What I mean by lunatic is they were also voting to say, I don't object to a porous border alone.
