Washington Post has been in its fair share of stories recently.

Its newsroom has been rocked by a crisis following the surprise departure of the Post Executive

Editor, Sally Busby and allegations of publisher and CEO Will Lewis meddling in the paper's coverage and over

the weekend the New York Times reported that Lewis used stolen phone records for stories

and paid large sums of money to sources when working in London. It's a practice forbidden in US Newsroom, but there is all

sorts of different rules in the UK when it comes to journalism. A lot of paying of sources a just a different culture and there's

different reasons for that we also have more of a Freedom of Information Act

in government and to be able to get into government in a ways that the UK does not. My guess today, who

better to talk about this than Eric Wumpel, he's the media critic for the Washington Post, but

it'll also take a step back and talk about all things media

big tech disinformation. We just learned there's essentially more fake

new sites now, local news sites than there are actual

local news sites. Just take that in for a minute. So we really are in, we have

crossed the Rubicon, whatever you want to say, we are in territory that is so uncharted

with our news ecosystem for this election that I think we sort of

it may take historians 50 years from now to correctly explain this sort of

soup we're in. I've described it as our essentially imagine if our drinking water

and our sewer system always the same pipe. That is news right now. News,

real information, misinformation, and disinformation is all in there.
