Where we left off, it was the beginning of 2016,

and Beth Wetlalfa was working as an agency nurse in and around Woodstock, Ontario.

She was being sent on assignments to different long-term care facilities and upsetting various people at each.

She wasn't liked by staff. She made lots of mistakes with medications.

She missed shifts and initiated inappropriate conversations in the workplace that made her colleagues uncomfortable.

She was observed being careless with the residents in her care and, in some cases, downright neglectful and abusive.

Several of the facilities she was assigned to told the agency that they didn't want her back.

But the agency continued to send her out on yet more assignments.

But the agency continued to send also applied for one more role herself.

That role was at St Elizabeth Healthcare, a not-for-profit charity and the largest community home care provider in Ontario. Her application was supported by glowing references.
