band not currently no and welcome to the next series. Very excited about this one. So throughout our

tenure here on No Dogs and Space, we've been focusing ultimately on the impact

of what came after our bands released their best work,

whether it be how they inspired future generations of musicians

or what kind of cultural impact they've had.

But the band we're going to be discussing on this series was not important for what came after but rather for what came before

Because without this band an entire subsection of a fascinating and vibrant genre related to punk might have been lost.

Now I might be overstating the importance of record nerds like ourselves here.

I fucking might be, I don't know. I don't know, I apologize if I am because you know this band they were nothing if not

obsessive record collectors but had these people not scoured thrift store bins

for hidden gems searching for both inspiration and their own

personal collections we might not have the understanding that we do of the

genre of rockabilly at least not in the context of the history of punk.

That's right, they did all the hard work that we barely have to do now.

Because that was before the internet.
