The Cowlitz County, John Doe, was found by a long shorman buried in blackberry brambles

near the wire house or dock in Longview, Washington, on February 22, 2020.

His near complete skeletal remains were sent to the King County Medical Examiner's office,

where a forensic odontologist made a dental record for comparison with Namus.

And an anthropological analysis suggested the remains belong to an adult Caucasian or

Hispanic male, believed to be between the ages of 21 and 30 and approximately 6 feet tall.

The Cowlitz-John Doe stood out to us for a few reasons.

The first is the location itself.

We know keys had been to Longview at least twice.

But because it's both on US Route 30 and in route from Nia Bay to his sister's house

in Oregon, it's likely a place keys was quite familiar with.

It also happens to be on the Washington Oregon State Line, just across the Columbia River

from Oregon.

The Cowlitz-John Doe was found in brambles along Slaughter's channel in the Columbia River

near an industrial dock, which lines up quite a bit with keys' use of waterways and boat

ramps.
