We live in a time when peacemakers are needed.

I hope that we can have faith that from God's perspective,

he sees things differently.

There is nobody in this room.

There is nobody that we know who has gone so far away

that the powerful love of Jesus Christ cannot reach out,

change, transform, and redeem them.

God really is with you.

Every year, the Oxford Dictionary picks the Word of the Year. It's kind of like the

homecoming competition for the English language. In the year 2024, the word of the year

was not faith, hope, or charity. It was brain rot. I'm not making this up. This literally was Oxford

Dictionary's Word of the Year in 2024. Nothing says cultural optimism like brain rot. And I'll be

honest, I wasn't 100% sure what brain rot was.

So I did a little bit of research, and I discovered it's what happens when you're endlessly scrolling through social media looking for something interesting.

Brain rot is when your thumb is training for a marathon, but your soul is standing still.

You're endlessly scrolling and never choosing where to focus.

And that's where the book of Joshua comes in.

The most famous verse in the book of Joshua is Joshua 24, verse 15, where Joshua says,

choose you this day whom you will serve. As for me in my house,

we will serve the Lord. So today we'll explore five stories from the book of Joshua. Plus,

we'll also look at the hardest moral question. Each of these stories that we'll explore

today invites us to choose today to follow the living God.
