List, was a novel of revenge without constraint. The second novel, True Believer

was not one of, was one of violent redemption. I started off with a one-word theme, redemption,

and very quickly added violent redemption to that.

And I find that having a theme helps guide the writing process

because everything has to go back to that theme,

whether it's directly or more importantly indirectly. So this was a story of violent

redemption. And from Instagram, this is from B. Barlow. What sort of research went into the African details? The details and true believer of the hunting section were my favorite part from any of the books. I would love a whole hunting series. I actually hear that quite a bit and I was already writing the second novel, already writing True Believer before I'd even sent the first one to Simon and Schuster.

So I didn't have an agent, didn't have a publisher.
