Today, we're talking about the very real cost of visibility.

And we're focusing on Latinx visibility, starting with Gadil G and Coachella.

In the past year, Latino artists have performed on some of the biggest stages across the United States.

As we know, Bad Bunny headlined the 60th Super Bowl and was the first artist to perform an entirely Spanish language set.

Then, Carole G made history as the first Latina artist to headline at Coachella.

These performances, of course, lead to public opinions, discourse, and endless commentary.

Nothing is simple, and neither was Carol G's history-making performance at Coachella.

So we're going to dig into the weeds of the pros, the cons, the good, the bad, what people loved about it, and what people didn't like so much about it.

So we want to start with her opening, the performance itself.

She walked onto the stage and said, I'm Carolina Hidaldo Navarro from Medellin, Colombia,

and she opened with Latina forever.

She brought out an all-female mariachi band, and Becky G. joined her both weekends.

So it was like full-throttle, Latina, We're here. We're reping. We are embodying

our Latinidad. And we are doing it boldly and loudly and proudly. Yeah. And you know, her most

recent album, Tropic Coquetta, really paid homage to all the different sounds of Latin America

going as far back as the beat
