That follows one of the side roads out of town. There aren't many cars on the road tonight.

In fact, you haven't seen a single one since you left home a while ago.

A light breeze whispers through the hedges on either side of the dirt path,

sending the tumble of leaves, skipping down the pavement on your left.

You're out for a quiet stroll on this cool, dusky evening before heading home to your cozy bed.

Most days, you take another route, but tonight, you decided to go somewhere new.

It can be nice to explore paths you've never walked before and see what wonders you'll find along the way.

Bordering the trail on the right hand side is a small woodland, which seems even more tangled with

roots at this time of year. Without the thick shrubs and grasses of summer, plain bark is left exposed.

For these trees, autumn marks the turn from lush green foliage to the silvery sheen of winter.

It's pretty now in its own stark way, you think.

The bare branches cast jagged shadows across the trail.

They sway and quiver in the breeze. You're grateful for the warmth of your favorite coat tonight.

It's soft and comfortable and keeps you at the perfect temperature during your evening walks.

You're also wearing a scarf whose ends are tucked into the front of the coat.

You pull the top of the scarf up a little higher over your chin.

Up ahead, you see an opening in the hedge on the forest at side.
