I just started noticing more and more events that people were wearing

corduroy in a more fashion forward way. It was less like how I was used to seeing it.

How are you used to seeing it?

I guess it's a textile that I associate with being very academic and I wore a lot of corduroy

when I was planning my back-to-school outfits in middle school. It hasn't been a part of my

wardrobe in a long time.

What got you thinking about corduroy? I started thinking about corduroy because I saw my sister

and I thought she was wearing something corduroy but it wasn't and it reminded her of a time when

we were on a family vacation at a resort in the Dominican Republic. Oh yeah, we were like on

vacation, summer and I was wearing corduroy. She was wearing like cut off corduroy shorts

and apparently I said something really snooty to her. You said that they were probably not

the right fit for the climate. I said to her just looking at you is making me hot.

Like why are you wearing those? We're on a tropical island in the Caribbean. Yeah, you definitely

weren't wrong. It's not really the typical way that people wear corduroy but I thought I could

make it work. I was just a fashion police for I don't know what reason. But apparently it stuck

with her for like seven years and she was kind of traumatized by it. So I wanted to hear more

from my family about corduroy and my mom who is a therapist, loves wearing corduroy. I used to love

the brown corduroy blazer. Actually, I just went to the store recently and picked up

corduroy blazer. Do you wear it to see your clients? Yes. When she sees patients in the office,

she thinks that it's a sophisticated textile. And then I kind of asked people about their general
