I'm a little late to the discussion, but we are going to talk about something that's been

controversial these last couple weeks in the Christian world, and that is the movie,

Redeeming Love. A few of you have sent me in your questions asking what are my thoughts.

And I didn't want to give my thoughts without seeing the movie. I know there are some others out there that didn't see the movie or hadn't even read the book and they were giving their

thoughts and opinions on it. And like so many of you, I read the book a couple of times

years ago and I love the book. and I'm going to start giving me my thoughts but before I do that I'm just going to be up front. I loved the movie.

I cried I've told others to watch it I thought it was incredible of a picture of God's love for his people.

And the first one, my first point is that I've never known anybody to pick up this book

Redeeming Love for its theology, for our theology on the book of Josea. For those that

don't know this book first off is a fiction book it is fiction

Christian fiction and it was not meant for facts it was not meant to be a perfect parallel

it was not meant to be a perfect parallel. It was not meant to be like a Bible study and I've never known anybody and there's never been a problem with this book for 30 years and all of a sudden it's like people have a problem with it. It's like, uh oh, it's like we gone woke. We can't we can't read redeeming love anymore. That to me it wasn't even about being a parallel to

Josea and Josea is a prophet that God told to marry a harlot to parallel to

hossa and hossa is a prophet that God told to marry a harlot

to illustrate his love for his people in Israel who he compares to a harlot.

But this book was always about the picture of God's love for his people.

And so it's kind of like when we watch the TV series The Chosen, I don't look at it for theology. I don't look at it for theology. I don't look at it to get my facts. I don't

look at it for the details of scripture. But it helps me connect those in between the scriptures.
