Hello and welcome to the second of our Red Lions constituency profile podcasts with just four weeks to go until election day on July the 4th. Between now and then, we'll be bringing you everything you could want to know about the candidates, the contests and how to crunch the numbers. Today we're looking at two important and potentially intriguing electoral battles in foil and its neighbouring constituency of

East London Derry. And with me to talk our way through the stories that may well unfold

are our resident numbersman Dr David McCann, the Irish Times Northern editor Frayama Clements

and our political editor Enda McClarty. Welcome to you all. It's good to see you. David,

let's start in the

Northwest. Give us your foil at a glance. So on paper, this is the safest seat in Northern Ireland.

Colomiswitt is seeking a second term defending a majority of north of 17,000 votes. This constituency

at one of the biggest swings in 2019. So again, this is an SDLP Heartland.

Foil has existed for a grand total of 31 years as a constituency,

and for 28 and a half of those years,

it's been under the control of the SDLP.

He's up against Sandra Duffrey from Sinn Féin.

She'll be looking to rebuild on Sinn Féin's very per result in 2019,

where they scored just over 20% of the vote.

That was a drop of 19 points in two and a half years.

So she'll be looking to gain background there.

Also, you have some high profile unionists in the race.

You have people like Gary Millerton, who's a former junior minister, seeking to represent the DUP in the constituency.

There's also the Ulster Units in the field as well.

There's talk of the TV potentially running here,

and again, the reason why would we mention such as solidly nationalist constituency,

the unionist parties?
