Summary

#109. This week Ed & Paul look back at United's victory over QPR, achieved with a touch of good fortune. When Manchester City lost at Arsenal to cement United's eight point Premier League lead fans confidence was sky high. Hubris is a dangerous emotion though and we discuss whether over-confidence played a part in United's loss to Wigan this week. We talk transfers, with renewed speculation about Nicolas Gaitan, Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba. Also: who will United bring in to replace outgoing strikers Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov. We touch on youth, with the Academy side taking on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this week. Will the latest crop do enough to impress Sir Alex Ferguson? And finally we look ahead to United's fixture with Aston Villa on Sunday, where the Reds will look to bounce back from midweek defeat. No Question About That is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music and all good podcast apps. Our collective.

One's collective, podcasting bravado. Where we both, might I add, predicted two wins for United.

0:36.0

It didn't quite work out like that, did it?

0:38.0

No, it certainly didn't.

The first part of the week was magnificent,

GPR and us winning a man sitting losing,

0:44.6

and that's set up a really, really

0:46.7

jubilatory atmosphere around the place, a celebratory.

0:50.5

United fans feeling that the title was already won, and Lee Dixon giving us his five

0:55.7

reasons, which were basically all the different things that go into playing football, why

1:00.0

Citi weren't winning and United were.

1:02.4

And yeah, Match of the day's attempt to

1:04.4

curse us and make the title race interesting by declaring it all over it has paid off and

1:08.6

it's back to five points and as you were, although without wishing to be overly hubristic about it, with five points clear with five games left.

1:17.0

Who wouldn't have taken that three months ago?

1:20.0

Yes, I know, although of course that is a slightly odd way of looking at it.

1:24.4

It's a way of trying to forget what has actually just happened.

1:27.4

So yeah, five points clear, five games to go.

1:30.0

Of course, another way of thinking about that with Manchester City's now restored goal difference

1:34.4

advantage is that we're actually a defeat at Eastlands and a draw on the final day away from losing
