The Biden administration has announced that it will offer temporary protected status,

which comes with the authorization to work in this country legally for close to half a million

Venezuelans in the U.S. as long as you were here before July 31st. This is just the kind of thing

that Mayor Adams and Governor Hoca have been asking for for New York, and while it doesn't solve

the whole issue of paying for asylum-seekers resettlement by any means, the New York immigration

coalition is quoted saying it will apply to about 60,000 Venezuelans in New York. That would be about

half of all the recent arrivals in the city who can now at least try to support themselves.
