0:06.3	Many families believe in this and raise their children to believe in it too.
0:09.9	This was especially true for the various missionaries spread across the globe throughout the 70s and 80s,
0:15.3	all under the umbrella of the Children of God. The communities seem to make the members and their children happy.
0:34.0	They'd witness wherever they went, singing and dancing for tourists while telling them all about
0:38.6	what peace and joy God and Jesus brought them.

0:51.8	capture the world for Jesus who were growing up in an environment all about free love really identified with the children of God's messaging.
1:00.0	This free love, or as it was in the community sharing of partners, led to plenty of pregnancies and subsequently

1:10.3	To reach out to these children, the leader David Berg was clever.
1:15.0	He used comic books and stories to talk to his followers.
1:19.0	They called him father, grandfather, or Mosesburg, too.
1:22.0	He was an enigma, the man behind the curtain, and his word
1:25.6	wasn't just law. It was the word of God. Would you dare disobey the word of God?
1:33.0	What about when God's word in comic book form illustrated David Burke going to heaven
1:38.0	and sleeping with a deceased 17-year-old member?
1:41.8	What about when the word of God commanded women in the community
1:44.7	to act as bait, going to bars and seducing men, bringing them back to their homes and
