Summary

We are back! This is simply a quick update episode to catch everyone back up to speed and set the stage for our next series of episodes.

Those episodes are going to cover the Discovery, Settlement and Development of Iceland. This will all serve as part of our quest to understand why the Sagas, Myths and Legends of Pagan Scandinavia were recorded there in the 1200s.

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Viking Age podcast.

0:07.0

We are officially back from our summer hiatus.

0:11.0

Yay! So it's been quite a while since our last episode, but I have to say that it has been very much worth it.

I've gotten a chance to do an absolute mountain of research

0:26.8

and I've got a bunch of writing done as well. And in the first time since I started this

giving you all a quick peek behind the scenes about my thinking.

1:20.0

If you don't care about that and you just want to move on to more Viking goodness,

1:25.0

feel free to pause this episode now and fire up the next one.

1:29.0

The only change you'll notice is that some episodes going forward will be prefixed with the letters

1:36.1

COA and that stands for Children of Ash.

1:41.3

Those episodes will be focused on exploring pagan Scandinavian religion, society, and culture,

1:48.0

while episodes with the normal numbering scheme will be part of the main narrative.

1:54.0

Got it? Cool. I'll see you on the other side.

1:59.0

Is there anyone still here? I sure hope so. Otherwise I am literally just

2:06.3

talking into this mic. Anyway, so I began this podcast with an eye towards telling a fairly standard narrative history of the Viking Age.
