Summary

It's 2003, and Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks is about to step onto a stage in the UK. Just days before the U.S. invades Iraq, she takes the mic and drops a bombshell: 'We're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas.' The country music scene erupts, and Toby Keith leads the charge. Armed with his anthem 'Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,' he launches a takedown mission against Maines and the band. In this episode, we’re diving deep into the feud that not only led to the dramatic downfall of the Dixie Chicks but also lit the fuse on a nationwide culture war.
