When one looks at the history of gay riots in the United States of America, you can observe

many events, but one of the most infamous events were the Stonewall riots of 1969. They're

considered to be one of the most well-known and pivotal events in United States history.

The riots marked a new beginning for the gay rights movement in the US and around the world.

For those of you listening who may not know, the Stonewall Riots were a series of demonstrations

that took place on June 28, 1969, where demonstrators came out to protest against a police

raid at the Stonewall Riot in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City.

But the truth is, the riots weren't actually the first time that American homosexuals had

fought back

government-supported prosecution of sexual minorities.

Starting as early as 1955, the list of pivotal events is extensive on the wiki page

citing the gay rights movement.

But missing from this list of significant events in LGBTQIA plus history is yet another

chapter that has been erased, much like many other cases that we've covered here on this show.
