Courtney Cronin, we're talking Chicago Bears today because of the fascinating

conundrum this franchise is in. So to kick things off, lay out the situation,

what's going on in the Windy City? It has been a very busy off season, an intriguing off season,

because they have the number one overall pick once again. The highest currency you can have in any sport in any in any league like at the

number one overall pick in the NFL it's an opportunity that feels like they can't pass it up

once again the way that they did last year. Will they use that number one overall

pick on a quarterback this time around?

It's the most polarizing quarterback debate I've ever been around and certainly the most polarizing in Chicago.

There's a portion of this Bears fan base that is dead set on Justin Fields needs one more year.

Justin has shown a lot and I know that that's why it splits this fan base the way that it did,

because when you have a glimmer of hope,

when you see something that shows promise, why give up on that? But the opportunity cost here and the

return on investment is, this is like a lesson in economics because of how beneficial it is when you have the number one overall

pick to control the way the draft flows, to control free agency in a lot of ways, and to build

your roster around a quarterback who did a lot of

incredible things at the collegiate level and the one that we're always talking

about is USC's Caleb Williams. I for one have long been of the opinion that quarterback is the worst coach

position in the NFL and no franchise embodies that more than the Chicago Bears who haven't had a Hall of Fame passer on the roster since the 1960s.

So today, as the team faces the prospect of shipping off their promising incumbent QB,

in favor of the generational talent at the top of the draft board,
