Welcome to today's show. I'm Chase Parm. And speaking with Gerard Gibbard. He is the CEO and founder of Venture Technologies here in the state of Mississippi.

He ran that company from 1986 to selling it in 2019.

And now one of the people associated with Amazon Web Services, bringing a data center to

Madison County in central Mississippi.

Gerard is on the Madison County Economic Development Association.

It's a board member on that.

And he joins us today to talk about this Amazon project.

Amazon already has a relationship with the state of Mississippi, but this expands it with a

$10 billion project, one that's supposed to bring in at least a thousand jobs into the state of

Mississippi. So we talk about what a data center is, what it's going to do for the state and the

different economic development impacts that come with this project that will begin to be up sometime

next year and then in the years in the future as well here with the state of Mississippi and

Amazon. So Dr. R are joining us for that toward the end of the show. We're also going to talk

about a couple other things going on, including mobile sports betting. He's got some thoughts

on that moving through the house and being a possibility for Mississippians inside the state

of Mississippi's footprint

beyond what is now just simply at the Brick and More Casinos.
