Summary

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17 — For a lot of us, the thing that’s keeping us from living fearless and free is that we are chained to the past. The enemy will attempt to use the chain of our past to keep us from fully stepping into the freedom that Jesus is offering. In fact, our past is much more of a weapon to be used to tell the story of who Jesus is, than it is something that we should be ashamed to talk about. The invitation to freedom and empowerment is on the table, let go of the chain of your past and step into it.

0:21.8	So I'm going to just talk about the past and for tents if you will and a lot of
0:27.4	us can visit each one of these tents. But just talking about the past is a big
0:32.6	thing because all of us have different experiences in life. But all of us have
0:37.2	come through, I think at least four areas of life. And the first thing that's in
0:42.0	our past is holding on to us tonight is the failure in our own lives that is in
0:48.1	our past. Can I get an amen from anybody on that? Okay, a few people understand
0:54.5	that. A few people signed up for that one. Just a few people in that tent with me.
0:57.8	We made a decision and we regret it. I'm not talking about like a small
1:03.0	decision. We made some stumbling steps and then maybe we just absolutely collapsed.
1:08.4	We made things that we did things, said things, whatever that we regret that to
1:14.2	this day still have a mark on our life. They were in the past but the shame is in
1:19.9	the present. They were in the past but the guilt is right here with us right
1:24.0	now. And it still got a hold on us. We try to push it away. We prayed a couple
1:30.6	prayers about it. We said, God, I think this time I'm going to move through it.
1:34.4	But somehow the weight of it is still in the story. Another one of the tents
1:39.9	that we gather in when we think about the past is that tent of disappointment.
1:46.0	It's that place in life where something or someone let us down.
1:53.2	Somebody we trusted and we're counting on walked out the door. A family that we
