The book of judges is somewhat like a museum of Israel's spiritual history, particularly the first two chapters that we're going to look at today, because in them, you're going to see a snapshot of Israel's rather rocky history with God.

There are certain temptations that no matter how hard they try, they just can't seem to shake them.

As you read Judges Chapter 1, we are lulled into sympathy with the Israelites.

We are told they could not drive out the Canaanites, and we are inclined to agree.
