So today we are going to be giving an update

on a case we covered on one of our Wednesday episodes.

It was back in November.

If you guys scroll back to November of 2025,

I think it was out the 12th.

I'm not sure exactly what number it was,

but it was called the catfish conspiracy.

So we will be talking about the conclusion of what occurred in that episode.

So if you guys recall, that was the one where allegedly the husband and the au pair had

conspired together to murder the mother and the au pair had conspired together to murder the mother,

and there had been also an unfortunate gentleman

who had been pulled into the murder and the scheme on a fetish website.

So this guy was outside of the situation and lured there to

essentially be posed as the killer. Well, on Sunday, February 2nd, a Fairfax County jury found

Brendan Banfield guilty of murdering his wife and that stranger. The verdict came after nearly

nine hours of deliberation across

two days, and it ended a case that has gripped Northern Virginia for almost three years.

A case built on an affair, a catfishing scheme on a sexual fetish website, and a husband

who decided that killing his wife was preferable to divorcing her.
