The cat that went, tingling!

Hello, this is Jana, and I'm here with two fables by Aesop.

Asop lived in ancient Greece and wrote stories with morals,

such as the boy who cried wolf, or the hare and the tortoise.

I'm sure you've heard of them, and we have versions here on StoryNori.

I'm now going to tell you two of his not quite so famous fables,

but they are still really fun.

They're probably more for our younger listeners.

A family of mice lived in an old house.

When I say a family, I mean a big family,

with lots of cousins and second cousins and third cousins,

not to mention aunties and shanties

and relations whose names I'm not even sure of.

Fortunately, the house was large, and the family of humans who lived there like to eat well.

They were always well stocked with cheese, ham, crackers, granary bread, biscuits, apples, cakes, andils, pulses, pulses, and all the things that mice

like to eat, just as much as humans do. At night there were plenty of delicious crumbs

in the kitchen and dining room, just waiting to be picked up. Because the family were lazy
