I'm John Batser and this is the Friends of History Debating Society, a podcast extra,

and I welcome a charter member of the Friends of History Debating Society, Congressman

Devonunus Devonunus of California, before he is a member of Congress, he is a Californian,

and he's observing in these recent days that California is challenged by one heat waves,

two, a severe water shortage, a drought that is in its second year and the third year

is catastrophe, and there's no reason to believe there won't be a third year because

La Nina promises a light snow winter this following year.

And three, the question of what is to be done with the electricity demand of California.

That's the important one because right now reporting I have is that Los Angeles, the southern

part of California, is under what is called flex alerts to reduce your electricity usage.

Right now, this despite the fact that the wildfires haven't gotten cooking yet.

They're early, but they're way in the north.

The northern part of California is now under a drought, it's under wildfire alert, and

also it is equally challenged by electricity, but not as profoundly as southern California.

So what is to be done?
