Summary

Dateline takes us to beautiful and freezing Pennsylvania in this vintage episode from season 20, THE CASE OF THE MISSING DA. And Lester Holt has forgone his usual episode bookends to report on the mysterious disappearance of District Attorney Ray Gricar. 20 years after his disappearance, we only have a waterlogged laptop, something called "football", and a crime scene investigator with no crime scene to investigate. What happened to Ray the DA? Katie and Kimberlancy Drew are more than ready to put on their preppy sweaters and grab their flashlights to look in every haunted lighthouse, leaky canoe, or cobwebbed stairwell for clues. Will the secret to Ray’s disappearance be buried under the Sandusky of it all? Or will K & K be able to solve the case in A DATE WITH DATELINE: Talking Shoppe. Official Description from NBCU: A decade before the scandal of coach Jerry Sandusky dismantled the Penn State community, a local attorney, Ray Gricar, was the first to investigate his case. But a few years later, Gricar disappeared. Was there a connection? Lester Holt reports. Help support A Date with Dateline by getting some deals from our generous sponsors! Hi everybody, this is Kimberly and this is Katie and you're listening to a date with date line. We are

0:06.4

taking it way back this week because date line gave us a repeat on a Friday again and a new one on

0:12.8

a Sunday. What I actually wrote date line was like listen is this gonna keep happening because

0:18.7

that will mess up our entire release schedule. But I said this message said with so much love and

0:25.2

gratitude as always. But they said no this is not going to be a regular thing it might happen

0:31.2

like one more time but it shouldn't be a regular thing. So we're gonna save the Sunday episode if

0:36.6

it's good. We just wouldn't have time to do it and do our normal release date. Just this time we

0:41.5

wouldn't this this week it didn't work. This weekend was insane. Another week it might. So we do

0:47.5

always try to give you the new release if we can just couldn't this time. Yeah. So this is an

0:52.8

episode that we found on peacock that I had never seen which never happens and which is a

0:58.4

momentous event. I don't want to underplay how big this moment is. Yeah. The text that I got

1:04.4

as said. Never heard of it. Oh my god there's a date line I haven't seen. That never literally never

1:09.6

happens. I almost fumbled my phone. I was like it was surprising. It's like me going to talk

1:16.8

about and there's an item I haven't tried. And they're like what no I'm just kidding I get the

1:21.3

same thing every time I'm so boring. I was gonna say have you tried it? I don't know that wasn't

1:25.6

an analogy. It was just a really bad analogy. I just wanted to work talk about it. So the

1:31.6

this is called the case of the missing DA. You know I feel like that we've already had a title

1:37.1

kind of similar. It's just such a Nancy Drew book title when it has the case of I love it. I'm

1:44.0

picturing Nancy Drew and she has a big flashlight and she is like a tight little bit of a two-chite

1:49.9

sweater on because she's trying to be sexy for a Ned her boyfriend. This is named Ned and she's

1:55.6

like outside of a lighthouse with the flashlight. Something's about to go down. You know I used to

2:02.0

get a candy bar for every book that I read right? No. Yeah. When I was a kid. That explains a lot
