0:18.8	Are you good at admitting when you're wrong? I am not. I hate it when other people draw attention to my failures, so I avoid most opportunities that I'm given to do it on my own.
0:26.6	You see, social media has only made that tendency worse.
0:31.2	When I open my glowing six inch screen and click on that enticing pink doorway into
0:36.3	Instagram, I make choices.
0:39.3	I decide how I want the world to see me. I can build a replica of me, one where I hide my
0:45.8	flaws. I shift and craft and cover up and manipulate an image of myself that says quite literally
0:52.0	whatever I want it to say to the world. I think we've all
0:55.6	become good at putting on a show, all the while concealing behind the curtain the
1:01.5	parts of us that we find less appealing.
1:04.4	We'd hate for the world to know the worst of us, so we only give them the best.
1:10.5	And why stop there?
1:11.8	The skills we've acquired on social media sneaks into our relationships,
1:16.4	our small groups, our churches, our families, and our relationship with God.
1:21.3	We see the perfection of other people's online identities and we try everything we can to hide the fact that our reality doesn't measure up.
1:30.0	This does something to us.
1:32.0	In our effort to present our best self to the world, we've become
1:35.6	uncomfortable with acknowledging our sin. We'd rather push it away than confront it.
1:42.0	Concealment over confession.
1:45.0	Our fear of being found out has truncated vulnerability.
1:50.0	It has killed confession, and it has left us walking around pretending like we have it all together,
