I always like to ask you to turn to at least two passages of scripture.

That's where we'll begin, and then put a marker at Mark chapter six.

But now we're going to talk for the next few weeks

about my best friend, the son.

My best friend, the son.

We're going to talk about Jesus. And this first message is one of the foundational messages to understanding why Jesus can be your best friend.

And here's what I called this first message,

I don't know if you ever thought about this,

but why did he become a carpenter?

Now there is a theological reason and it's called

identification. There is an illusion of that theological principle today that I could give you the example,

but again it's only an illusion of the theological truth.
