How are you, Matt?

Hello, Michael. At the very beginning of this episode, you would have heard our theme tune,

and part of that theme tune goes, boom, boom, boom, boom. That, my friend, if you weren't aware,

is a heart beating. And your heart, Matthew, that enlarged heart that you do have, muscle pump,

beats around about 100,000 times in 24 hours in a single day. And around about... Doesn't have a break?

Never takes a break. 2.5 billion times in your lifetime. It will beat nonstop. It doesn't

just go, you know what, I'm just going to stop for a few minutes. I'm taking today off. If it does,

you're taking the rest of the day off because that heart is pumping that blood around your body.

It's delivering oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and helping remove any waste products

from the tissues as well and needs to do this constantly. The heart is an amazing structure

and the associated vessels are there to help support its role. And that's what today's

topic is going to be. It's the whole

cardiovascular system. Wow. We're going through the whole thing, man. That's significant.

So we're going to have time? Is everyone ready for a five hour episode? No. We will make sure we

cover all the important points that your lecturer would cover. And we're going to make sure we do it in a way

that makes a lot of sense and is extremely helpful.
