Lynn Goldsmith is a legendary portrait, commercial and fine-art photographer who has photographed many of the great entertainers of film, television and music including Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Patti Smith and Miles Davis, just to name a few. Her photographs have appeared on the covers of Life, Newsweek, Time, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, People, and more. She has also created a body of fine-art photography which includes a remarkable series of self-portraits. 0:00.0	It's October 11th, 2009, and this is The Candid Frame. There are many photographers that have influenced me over the years.
0:29.6	I developed my way of seeing not only by taking a lot of photographs, but by looking at the work of great photographers.
0:36.7	I have a collection of monographs from many of these photographers that I have had for well
0:42.1	over 20 years.
0:43.3	And many of these books I've returned to over and over again, not only to draw inspiration,
0:48.1	but also to be reminded what great photographs look like.
0:52.3	The work of today's guest has long been just such an inspiration,
0:56.0	and it's why I'm so pleased to have had the opportunity to speak with Lynn Goldsmith.
1:01.8	Lynn has photographed some of the legends of music,
1:04.2	including Miles Davis, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan.
1:07.9	But her work over the years has been more than just about rock and roll, her recent self-portrait
1:12.7	work and even her own forays into the music, reveal a passion for expression and creativity
